Meridian Promotes David Ing to CTO
Chief Software Architect assumes Chief Technology Officer role
FOLSOM, Calif. (January 7, 2004) - Meridian Project Systems® (Meridian), a leading provider of project management software and ASP solutions, announces the promotion of David Ing to Meridian Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With more than 14-years experience in project management and software development, Ing will lead Meridian technology initiatives with the research and development team from Vancouver, British Columbia.
"The position of CTO is critical to maintaining a clear technology leadership advantage," said Jim Olsen, Meridian chief executive officer. "Over the last two-plus years, David Ing has been our Chief Software Architect primarily responsible for designing, structuring and directing the creation of Proliance®, a fully collaborative, web-based project and program management solution suite integrating key technologies including process management, and laying the groundwork for the evolution to a dynamic distributed data operating environment."
"Since its release in October 2003," continued Olsen, "Proliance has proven itself as the industry leader in technology and solution performance, and David's leadership in the design of the Proliance architecture has resulted in several patent pursuits. David's promotion to CTO ensures that Meridian and Proliance continue technology leadership, maintaining clear architectural vision that enables structural scale, application expansion and optimum functional performance," finished Olsen.
Ing's responsibilities include Meridian' continued growth through educating customers, marketing, coordinating with industry standards associations, and collaborating with IT experts and analysts interested in the paradigms that Proliance's XML and Web Services technologies bring to the facility life cycle management markets. Ing will also be instrumental in working with Meridian alliance partners to bring completely integrated solutions to various market segments. Ing will maintain oversight of all Meridian application architectures and works with the Meridian research and development team to deliver world-class applications.
"Meridian is on the leading edge of realizing the business benefits of XML and Web Services technology for our customers. In fact, I think it's fair to say that we are way, way ahead of the pack," remarked Ing. "The work of our development team over the last two years has been a bold investment in the architecture of the Proliance product line. The result is unparalleled and innovative features that offer competitive advantage to our customers. Meridian and Proliance will redefine how project management life cycle software is seen in our marketplace, and I look forward to exploring where this profitable application of technology will take us."
Ing's previous experience as a Software Developer and Software Architect for IBM Global Services (U.K.) and Northrop Grumman Corporation, respectively, included development and design of enterprise-level products for industrial automation and business control as well as combat support systems for the U.S. Department of Defense and the United Kingdom Royal Navy. Before joining Meridian as a Senior Technical Architect of Enterprise Solutions, Ing was Senior Software Architect for manufacturing information business systems with Yokogawa Electric Corporation (U.K.) and has consulted on software architecture over the last 10 years. Ing holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Portsmouth, HaMeridianhire.
