Meridian Showcases Peoplesoft, Target, Skanska Speakers At User Conference

Enterprise Solution Provider Lending Real Estate, Construction, Facility Management Industry Insights; Deploying Technology as a Bottom/Top Line 'Market Edge' is Core to 3-Day Event

FOLSOM, Calif. (August 24, 2004) — Meridian Project Systems®, provider of enterprise solutions for managing large physical infrastructure initiatives, announces speakers and sponsors for the Meridian International User Conference 2004. The annual event — held this year in Orlando, Fla., at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts from Sept. 14 through Sept. 16 — brings together real estate, construction and facility professionals to exchange ideas and best practices. Entitled Accelerating Business Performance, the 2004 conference will feature discussions with leading companies within the facility lifecycle and technology industries.

To facilitate more idea exchange and include more input from a greater number of innovative companies, Meridian has changed the general session format of the conference, eliminating lectern-style speeches and featuring four panel discussions. Long-time ABC News correspondent and leader of industry events for McGraw-Hill's ENR and BusinessWeek, Scott Shuster will moderate these sessions that will delve into hot industry topics:

The State of Technology Across the Real Estate, Construction and Facility Lifecycle — Is technology helping to bridge the gap between project owners and contractors? Which technologies are here to stay and which are hype?

Featuring:

  • Dr. Ric Jackson, Director, FIATECH
  • Steve Hage, Manager of Technology Process and Engineering, Target
  • Paul King, Vice President of Administration, Skanska
  • John Bodrozic, President/Cofounder, Meridian Project Systems

Improving Corporate Visibility: The Myths and Realities of Integration — Topics will touch on the elimination of data silos and the consolidation of single-purpose solutions. Can there possibly be one system of record that tracks the entire capital project lifecycle?

Featuring:

  • Peter Hill, Director of Operations - Project and Service Industries, PeopleSoft
  • Chris Hall, Director of Information Services, Fluor Government
  • Phil Go, Chief Information Officer, Barton Malow
  • David Ing, Chief Technology Officer, Meridian Project Systems

Meridian Executive Roundtable — Hear from Meridian executives who will discuss the current state of the company and its future vision.

Featuring:

  • Jim Olsen, Chief Executive Officer, Meridian Project Systems
  • David Ing, Chief Technology Officer, Meridian Project Systems
  • John Bodrozic, President/Cofounder, Meridian Project Systems

Using Technology as a Competitive Weapon — Gain new insight from panelists on whether technology can improve your financial performance, expand your value offerings and improve customer satisfaction.

Featuring:

  • Ortez Gude, Chief Information Officer, The Haskell Company
  • Sam Sockwell, Assistant Vice President of IT, Trammell Crow Company
  • Patrick Sweeney, Vice President-Project Support, SNC-Lavalin
  • Jim Olsen, Chief Executive Officer, Meridian Project Systems

Knowledgeable Meridian team members and clients will also present 35 educational sessions throughout the three-day conference. Sessions will discuss Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) best practices, as well as executive sessions on the impact of enterprise-wide Business Process Management and the benefits to top line revenue and bottom line cost savings through Business Intelligence. Sessions will also feature test-drives of the latest Meridian solutions (including integrated Proliance Scheduling), sessions discussing technical best practices for accounting software integration, and user-focused sessions to improve usage of Prolog® Application Suite, ProjectTalk® and Proliance®.

The week's events will be supported by Platinum conference sponsor PeopleSoft, and Gold sponsor Trammell Crow Company; as well as Silver and Exhibitor sponsors Associated Computer Systems, The Blue Book of Building and Construction, BV Solutions Group, Construction Imaging Systems, The Cram Group, Deltek, Ideal.com, Mobilis, Plan Express, RealFoundations and ReproMax.

"This year's conference format and the caliber of both speakers and sponsors exemplify the position of technology and industry leadership that Meridian has gained over its more than a decade in business," said Sue Watkins, Meridian director of marketing. "We're excited to bring more industry leaders to the conference and to provide our users and client companies a unique opportunity for idea exchange that can truly impact the top and bottom line business performance of their organizations."
