Meridian Project Systems Demonstrates Business Process Management at 2003 User Conference

7th annual event showcases Proliance® to over 350 attendees

FOLSOM, Calif. (Oct. 17, 2003) - Meridian Project Systems® (Meridian), a leading provider of project management software and ASP solutions, featured a live demonstration of Proliance, the first business process management (BPM) tool for corporate real estate and construction markets, at its 2003 International User Conference. Targeted toward large owners and construction companies, Proliance is Meridian' 3rd generation technology platform that allows global companies to manage projects, programs and business processes across their organizations.

Meridian's 7th annual user event was held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nev. on Oct. 1-3, 2003, and drew more than 160 companies from construction, real estate services, design and engineering firms, as well as public and private owners in telecommunications, manufacturing, education, pharmaceuticals, technology, and retail. Themed A Decade of Innovation, the conference provided more than 350 attendees with a recap of Meridian' last ten years of accomplishments, as well as insight into the future of its multi-product portfolio featuring Prolog Application Suite, ProjectTalk and Proliance.

Meridian user conferences provide a platform where customers can expand their use and knowledge of our products," said Jim Olsen, chief executive officer of Meridian. "As we grow our product line, conference attendees can better understand our organization as well as how our technology supports their expanding business needs," continued Olsen.

The general session began with a presentation by Olsen addressing the success of Meridian and its Prolog and ProjectTalk offerings. He discussed Meridian' promising beginnings and its current position as the sole provider of BPM solutions built on Web Services and XML technology designed specifically for real estate and construction markets. Today, Meridian is unique in supplying its clients with a diverse product portfolio that spans multiple markets and supports varied functionality, deployment and technology requirements.

Presented by users from Meridian client companies such as Wyeth BioPharma, Cisco Systems, Fluor Corporation and Gilbane Building Company, conference track sessions were well received by attendees. According to conference surveys, attendees believed the sessions to be informative, thoughtful and useful to their individual roles and their companies' key business objectives. Nearly 90 percent of this year's attendees will consider attending the 2004 International User Conference.

Keynotes from Addison Holmes, director of finance, store development for Williams-Sonoma Inc.; and Ken Loeber, managing director of Trammell Crow Company Global Services, topped the extensive agenda of implementation profiles, industry networking roundtables, internal training tactics, hands-on exploration of solution features, and solution tips and tricks. Attendees rated among the most useful topics: Centralizing Training and Support Within Your Organization, What's New in Prolog 7.0, and Best Practices for Self-Hosting Prolog Manager Using Citrix.

Users attend our conference to gain new product skills, to interact with other industry professionals and to meet Meridian executive and development staff," said Sue Watkins, Meridian marketing director and conference producer. "Our attendees appreciate our relevant conference topics, customer and technical speakers, and opportunities to network with other Meridian customers. We'll continue to incorporate their feedback to produce future conferences that meet their expanding solution needs," finished Watkins.
