Meridian Project Systems Named One of the Nation's Fastest-Growing Companies by Inc Magazine
Meridian makes the Inc 500 list again, this time with a 1,062% growth rate
Folsom, Calif. (October 11, 2001) - Meridian Project Systems (Meridian), leading software and e-business developer for the architecture, engineering and construction industries, announced today that it has made the Inc 500 list for the second year in a row.
Every year, Inc magazine releases the Inc 500, a ranking of the nation's top entrepreneurial companies according to sales growth over the previous five years. Inc 500 alumni include Microsoft, Domino's Pizza and Gateway.
This year, Meridian is listed as the 281st fastest growing, privately held company in the United States. The rank was based on a 1,062 percent sales increase from 1996 to 2000. Meridian debuted on last year's list as number 56, with a 2,923 percent sales increase.
"We are proud and excited to once again be included in Inc magazine's prestigious list," said John Bodrozic, president and cofounder of Meridian. "Every employee has produced significant results, contributing to our phenomenal sales growth."
With 59 Inc 500 businesses, California boasts the most companies on this year's list. New York placed second with 33 finalists, and Massachusetts and Texas tied for third with 29 firms each. New York City is the metro area with the most Inc 500 companies (39 total), followed by Washington DC (31), Boston (30), San Francisco (26) and Chicago (24).
This year's list set records in terms of both collective sales and growth rates, racking up a collective total of $12.5 billion in sales. Reflecting the technology boom in the past few years, the largest percentage (38 percent) of Inc 500 companies was in a computer-related field.
