Product Tip of the Month – Prolog®
New Feature in Prolog Manager 7.5: Editable Pick List
By Charity Muse, Meridian Support Analyst
Do you need to change multiple records at once, perhaps updating the date for five RFIs at once or the type for twenty different Drawings and Specifications records? Using the new Editing in Pick Lists feature, you can do this!
To edit multiple records at once:
- Bring up the form that contains the records you want to update, such as the Request for Information form or the Drawings and Specifications form.
- Click the small binoculars icon on the lower left side of the form, just to the right of the navigation arrows. This will bring up the Pick list.
- You’ll see your records listed one per row, with the names of the fields at the top of each column. To the far left is a column labeled “Select”. Check the checkbox in the “Select” column for each record you wish to change.

- With the rows selected, click the “Quick Edit” button on the lower left side of the List View window. The “Quick Edit” dialog box will appear.
- You will have two fields. On the left field, “Select Field,” select the field or column you want to edit. On the right side, for “New Value,” select the value you want to use for that field for all the selected records. Depending on the field, you can type this in, use another list view to select the value, or use a drop-down list
- Click the Apply button. You’ll get a dialog box confirming the number of records you’re about to update. Click the button for Yes or No, as appropriate.
The new value you’ve selected will be applied to all the selected rows. This will make updating multiple records easier than it was before.
