Transferring Your Prolog License to a New Server or Computer

Have you needed to move your Prolog license to a new server? Not sure how to make the move successfully? Take a look at the link above to make the license process go smoothly.
This tech tip is written for the Prolog version 7.2. For previous versions, please refer to the licensing help available within the application.
Changing to a new server can be a daunting process. But moving your Prolog license to the new server can be done using the direct transfer process. With the proper rights, you can move your license to another Prolog installation on a local area network or workgroup.This process can also apply to moving the license from one desktop to another.
Two requirements exist when transferring licenses. If you have a serial number with multiple licenses, you must transfer all the licenses associated with the serial number. Also, if you store licenses for more than one serial number on your computer, you can only transfer the licenses for one serial number at a time.
To transfer licenses to another desktop or server installation of Prolog Manager, please follow the steps below.
- Open license manager on the installation of Prolog Manager that holds the licenses.
- Ensure that the Location of Application to License box contains the folder path for the installation with the license.
- Click the Transfers tab then click the Direct Transfer tab.
- In the Serial Number box, type or select the serial number you want to transfer.
- Click the Browse button.
- In the Browse for Folder dialog box, navigate to the folder that contains the application you want to license.
- The default locations for each product are ("x" represents the drive on which your product is installed):

- If you did not install your product to the default path, search for the file using the list below as a guide. Once you find the file, point your path to the folder that contains the file.

- Click the OK button. The appropriate path appears in the box.
- Click the Apply button. Your licenses are transferred to the specified location.
