Ryan Companies Selects Construction Project Management Software from Meridian Systems

Proliance® software provides technology foundation to support long-term growth initiatives

FOLSOM, Calif. (January 29, 2007) – Meridian Systems®, a provider of enterprise project management software for optimizing capital projects, programs and facilities, today announced that Ryan Companies US, Inc. has selected Proliance software for construction project management.

Proliance combines project and portfolio management, facilities management, business process management and business analytics to create one comprehensive software system of record for tracking the performance of real estate, construction and facilities projects and portfolios.

Ryan will replace existing custom and paper-based business systems with an integrated enterprise technology system that integrates construction management, real estate management, human capital management and financial reporting. Ryan initially intends to use Proliance to manage 250 active projects. Ryan’s Proliance implementation will also feature integration with Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One solution and Cognos business intelligence technology.

"Ryan is pursuing technology initiatives that will support its long term growth and overall project efficiency,” said Mike Ernst, ERP Project Director at Ryan Companies.  “Proliance meets our key requirements for a construction management system both today, and in the future as we scale our project volume up to meet the expanding needs of our customers."

Proliance was chosen for its ability to enhance project execution by centralizing data and standardizing project management processes.  Ryan is already adopting Lean Construction practices companywide in order to maximize value and eliminating waste. Proliance will enable Ryan to expand support for this methodology by streamlining and automating business processes specifically within their construction division.

The Proliance solution will provide the business intelligence needed to monitor profitability of all projects and programs, and other key performance indicators, as they continue this aggressive growth.  A key business consideration for Ryan was to select technology with a 10-year investment horizon. Proliance was built on a modern SOA internet technology platform using Web services and XML technology, providing Ryan with enterprise-wide scalability to support its future growth.
