Baptist Health South Florida Selects Proliance to Manage Capital Projects and Facilities
Regional healthcare leader adopts Meridian’s Infrastructure Lifecycle Management solution
FOLSOM, Calif. (June 28, 2006) – Meridian Systems®, a provider of enterprise project management software for optimizing capital projects, programs and facilities, announced today that Baptist Health South Florida has selected the Proliance® software solution to manage its capital projects and programs. Baptist Health South Florida is the largest not-for-profit health care organization in the southeastern Florida region.
Proliance allows organizations to reduce capital project costs, shorten cycle times, and to improve facility maintenance by optimizing the Plan-Build-Operate lifecycle for capital projects, programs and other infrastructure initiatives. This agreement will bring 50 internal staff as well as 50 to 100 external vendors on to the Proliance system to manage a $400 million project pipeline, which is anticipated to grow to more than $1 billion in the next few years.
Baptist Health was looking to consolidate its current project management applications, consisting of spreadsheets, Microsoft Word documents, related project files and process manuals, on a single integrated solution. By selecting Proliance, Baptist Health will be able to implement one enterprise system of record for managing its entire capital project portfolio.
“Our goal is to continually improve upon our departmental efficiency and to deliver strong capital project results,” said Thomas Tulloch, Senior Vice President, Construction Management at Baptist Health South Florida. “Proliance allows us to put in place a corporate-wide system that consistently captures project status so we can better analyze our performance metrics and keep our projects on track.”
Proliance combines project and portfolio management functionality, facilities management, business process management and business analytics to create one comprehensive system of record for tracking the performance of real estate, construction and facilities projects and programs.
These capabilities allow Baptist Health to: 1) capture and roll-up performance metrics across all capital projects, project teams and vendors; 2) streamline its project pipeline management using one central collaboration system; and 3) implement an enterprise-scalable project financial management and automation system.
As a healthcare provider, Baptist Health needs to ensure that all capital project work completed is approved and processed in accordance with budget parameters and health care specific permitting and regulatory requirements.
“We are confident Proliance will provide an integrated information system that all of our project managers, end users and executive management will find very easy to utilize,” said Ray Lafrenaye, Corporate Assistant Vice President, Construction Management at Baptist Health South Florida. “This process will provide us with a methodology to communicate numerous variations of disparate information into concise, easily digestible reporting structures.”
The business process management capabilities of Proliance allow Baptist Health to ensure that the agreed upon approval processes for budget, contract and change management are followed consistently, while eliminating manual processes and providing performance measurement and historical project data. As a central collaboration system, Proliance also improves communication and creates a clear understanding of roles, responsibilities and limits of authority across the project team.
Meridian Systems provides multiple deployment options for its software solutions, including self-hosted licenses, an ASP subscription model, as well as a managed-host environment that combines the best of both these options.
